1. Lab introduction (research area)

Our lab focuses on biomedical optics and ultrasound including fluorescence imaging, optical coherence tomography, ultrasound elastography, and fiber optics. We have a close relationship with hospitals and are actively working with more than 10 medical doctors from different department. All the developed technologies started from medical unmet needs suggested by the doctors and are intended to be tested in the operating room or clinics. Recently, we developed autofluorescence imaging devices and is under clinical trial for commercialization. Experience on ultrasound signal processing, optical instrumentation, Visual C++, electrical instrumentation is a plus, but not required. Candidates should have a background in electrical engineering, software development, optical engineering or other closely related fields. The student can work on any of the following research projects:
(1) Optical and medical system development,
(2) Imaging processing and software development,
(3) In vitro and in vivo biomedical imaging.
